The need for a good drinking cup that reduces the risk of choking and increases independence

Swallowing is a very complex movement and takes about 2 seconds. People take 800 to 2400 times a day. Choking is a problem! Dysphagia (disorder of swallowing) occurs in all age groups. 0.11 to 22.6% of the Dutch population has dysphagia. Using a good drinking cup reduces the risk of choking.

20 milliliters per sip is the maximum sip size that can be offered in dysphagia. The normal sip size for men is on average 30 milliliters per sip and for women 20 milliliters

OPTIMAL USE

T he Total Cup® is a tool that contributes to reducing the risk of choking and increasing independence.

Wise and careful handling of the Total Cup ® contributes to optimal use and enjoyment.

Avoid using different drinks such as coffee, tea or juice from the same cup. Clean the Total Cup ® regularly.

TO SWALLOW

Use of the Total Cup ® as a normal drinking cup or with insert.
With the insert, the sip size is predetermined in a dose of 20 ml or 15 ml.

Optimal dosing with the insert?

Fill the Total Cup ® to the maximum line.
Close the hole in the insert with the cap.
Twist the insert into the cup.
Open the cap.
The sip size is now dosed for all sips!

Use of the Total Cup ® can be adapted to the wishes of each individual.
