ETHICON PERMA-HAND SILK is a sterile suture material made of braided polyfilament made from the natural thread of the silkworm. The natural material is easy to work with and provides a secure knot closure .
APPLICATION
- Silk is suitable for indications where long-term stability is not required.
- causes a minimal inflammatory response in the tissue with subsequent encapsulation of the connective tissue.
- although it is not absorbed, it loses its tensile strength after 3-6 months. - soft tissue adjustment and/or ligature, general and plastic surgery , skin closure, visceral surgery , gynecology, obstetrics, orthopedics.
- also suitable for neurological, cardiovascular and ophthalmological procedures .
CONTRAINDICATION
- should not be used in patients with known sensitization or allergy to silk.
SPECIFIC FEATURES
- non-absorbable suture material made of dyed natural silk.
- coated with wax to ensure smooth passage through the fabric.
- atraumatic needle-thread combination.
- stable needles with carefully crafted reinforcement.
