Ribcap protects - not like a helmet, but much more than a regular hat, thanks to the sewn-in protectors. The inside of the hat consists of soft viscoelastic protectors instead of a hard shell . Unlike hard materials, which either keep their shape or break during an impact, viscoelastic materials change their shape, allowing them to absorb the energy of the impact . That is soft protection .

WHAT KIND OF INJURIES DOES THE RIBCAP HELP PREVENT?

Every injury is different and every fall or shock has different consequences. The Ribcap offers good protection in the event of a fall on slippery surfaces (e.g. ski slopes, ice rinks or snowy roads) or when you bump your head against rounded objects , but offers little protection against sharp objects (e.g. a ski pole) due to the soft protective material .
