Combination door handle for people with wandering behavior
A simple and effective solution!
The double-acting door handle acts as a physical barrier for people with wandering behavior. It prevents someone from opening a door that is not accessible to him or her.
People with wandering behavior can sometimes unintentionally enter other residents' rooms or 'forbidden' areas. This leads to frustration for both the patient and the caregiver and can even pose risks for the person in question. The double-acting door handle prevents a person from opening a door that he/she is not allowed to open.
The double-acting door handle provides a simple solution that gives both the patient and care staff greater peace of mind.
How does the door handle work?
To open the door, 2 consecutive actions must be performed. Only then can you open the door.
1. Press the round button on the front of the handle inwards
2. Hold the button and push the lever down.
3. Open the door
This combined action is difficult to perform by people with dementia or wandering behavior. In this way, they are prevented from entering a space.
