A bath board can make the difference during a transfer. However, safe placement is a prerequisite. All bath planks have a clamping system at the bottom to prevent them from sliding away.
The specified length is the outside measurement: to determine the length, measure the bath at the top from the wall to the outer edge. A length is chosen that is as close as possible to this.
However, too long is also unsafe, as the bath board can tip over when you sit on the protruding edge.
