Knee pain is a common condition that can be caused by both short- and long-term problems. Many short-term knee problems don't need help from doctors, and people can often help with their own recovery. Also, home remedies can help with many of the long-term knee pain issues. Strengthening the upper leg muscles - the quadriceps muscles - through exercise can help protect the knee joint . These muscles are on the sides and front of the thighs.
