Suffering or pain in the legs: tools that heal, alleviate or prevent

Heavy legs are no fun!

Keep moving! By moving you promote the circulation in the legs and prevent a heavy and tired feeling in the legs. Try to walk or cycle for half an hour every day.

Avoid standing for long periods. By prolonged standing (or sitting in an attitude with the legs crossed!) The circulation is hampered.

Even too tight clothing can impede circulation and thus provoke heavy and tired legs.

Avoid cold feet. place your legs a bit higher at night. For example, place an extra wedge pillow at the foot end of the bed to put your feet on. By raising your feet, you stimulate the circulation in your legs and the blood can flow back more easily through the vein valves.

Encourage the circulation with exchange baths. Alternating baths are also a very good way to stimulate your internal circulation. First keep your feet in a warm bath for three minutes, then in cold water for three seconds and repeat this several times. You can of course also do this in the shower, by pointing the shower head on your legs and alternately spraying hot and cold water on your legs.

Walk occasionally barefoot. Walking the barefoot in the grass or sand improves the circulation. Walk on the toes once in a while.

Stop smoking. A good tip for the smokers among us. Smoking is bad for the blood vessels and veins. Therefore try to stop smoking.
