BREAST CANCER AND EDEMA

Breast cancer-related (lymph) edema develops in 2 to 3 in 10 women as a result of radiotherapy or removal of lymph nodes. Edema can occur both after ablation and after breast conserving therapy (BST), either immediately after surgery (acute edema), or years later as chronic breast or breast flank edema. Research shows that it is estimated that more than 1.5 million patients worldwide have breast cancer-related edema. Due to the increased use of breast-conserving operations and the lymph node-sparing SLN method, there is less lymphedema in the arm. However, due to the increasing number of breast-conserving operations in combination with radiation, more and more breast and/or breast flank oedema is occurring. MOBIDERM COMPRESSION BRA - POINT PRESSURE DEVICE

Our unique MOBIDERM compression bra offers optimal care for women with breast and chest wall edema. The compression bra is specially designed for women who have undergone breast cancer surgery and can be used after plastic breast surgery. The compression aid has a shape-stabilizing and relief effect. The Mobiderm bra compression aid can also be combined with a breast prosthesis. In addition to adequate support, the main function of the integrated mobiderm point pressure in the bra is drainage and reduction of edema. A second important function of the bra is control and maintenance of breast flank edema. This is how you determine the correct bra size:

The correct bra size is best determined with awell-fitting bra:
• The bottom edge of the bra should not constrict.
• The cups must not constrict the breasts and must enclose them completely at the sides
and at the décolleté

1. Determine the correct bra size
First measure the underbust circumference. Compare the measurement with the correct bra size in below
table (step 1). Example : 79 cm measured = bra size S.
2. Find the right cup size
Measure from the center of the back (spine) across the fullest part of the chest to the sternum. Then double this measurement result. Find this size in the same column as the bra size in section (step 2) of the table. Example : 47 cm measured, is doubled 94 cm. If the bra size is S, the cup size is B.
So in this case you order a Mobiderm compression bra, size S, cup B
