Therapeutic indications for spirometer training

Voldyne Spirometer Instructions for Use
- Remove the components from the packaging, extend the tubing to its full length and connect the open end of the tubing to the stem on the front of the training spirometer.
- Drag the green slider to the prescribed volume level.
- Hold or place the spirometer upright. Breathe out normally. Then place your lips tightly around the mouthpiece.
- Inhale slowly to bring the plunger into the chamber. As you inhale, align the green flow tab with the flow band at the smiley face. Continue to inhale and attempt to raise the Voldyne spirometer plunger to the prescribed volume level (the top of the plunger indicates the inspired volume)
- When inspiration is complete, remove the mouthpiece, hold your inspiration as prescribed, and exhale normally. Allow the plunger to return to the bottom of the chamber. Rest and resume the exercises. Follow your doctor or physical therapist's instructions regarding the frequency of use of the Voldyne spirometer and the recommended inspiration volumes.
