Weighted cutlery
GoodGrips cutlery has soft and shock-absorbing handles , which also offer a good grip when wet. The comfortable grips are made of a soft rubber-like material with flexible ribbing that adapts to every hand. The shape is round and conical. All stainless metal parts have a pivot point in the shaft, so that the spoon can be bent at any desired angle, both left and right.
This version is extra heavy and ideal for shaking hands or tremor. This is the preferred cutlery set for Parkinson's patients.
Technical info:
- Ø handle: 3.5 cm
- weight: 170 g
- dishwasher safe
If the mobility of the arm or wrist is reduced, it may be useful to have the front part of the cutlery at a different angle. With certain types this is adjustable, with others the angle is fixed.
Most cutlery is in principle suitable for a household dishwasher at a moderate temperature. Industrial dishwashers such as in commercial kitchens and institutions can damage the handle. For large orders, it is therefore advisable to do a few tests.
For people with mobility limitations, cutlery in a corner is recommended.
There are 2 options:
- cutlery that is already in a corner
- advantage: robust
- disadvantage: the angle is determined, and can no longer be adjusted
- bendable cutlery
- advantage: one can perfectly determine the right angle for the user
- disadvantage: the inflection point is always a weak point in the metal.
In principle, the cutlery can only be bent once. It is therefore not possible to use the cutlery as a "demo".
